Communication Regarding the Sealing and Unsealing of Hazardous Substances

This document intends to communicate to all the users of Group III and IV hazardous substances about the processes of sealing and unsealing the equipment. The sealing of dangerous substances is an enforcement action and may occur during announced and/or unannounced inspections or in the event of reported incidents/accidents relating to non-compliance with Group III and IV Hazardous Substances. The Inspector is mandated by the Hazardous Substances Act, 15 of 1973, Section 9, Subsection 1d, to seal any such substance, appliance or object or its package, or lock, secure, seal or close any door or opening giving access to it.
