SAHPRA visits Wits University

Pretoria, 06 October 2022 – The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA), as part of its awareness campaign targeting tertiary institutions, visited the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) on Thursday, the 6th of October. Human Resources (HR) and the Inspectorate and Regulatory Compliance unit presented valuable and beneficial information to students from the Faculty of Health Sciences.

This HR drive allows students to better understand SAHPRA’s mandate and its roles and responsibilities, including educating students about the Authority’s programmes.

Many students attended the SAHPRA presentation at the Marie Curie Lecture Hall within the Health Science campus. The Executive Manager: HR, Mr Gordon Mtakati and Regulatory Compliance Manager Ms Mokgadi (Daphney) Fafudi addressed the students, and this was followed by a Question and Answer (Q&A) session.

Wits Lecturers Dr Neelaveni Padayachee, Ms Stephanie De Rapper, and Ms Zelna Booth were part of the session. Students were attentive and engaged in robust discussions during the session.
